Replay Radio which records streaming audio from websites. (kind of like
Tivo for talk radio).
The problem is it will automatically "wake" my laptop from standby to
record a program at a scheduled time. So if my laptop is closed inside
my backpack, I was surprised with to find my laptop on and quite hot.
Unfortunately, the author of this program doesn't give me the option to
disable this. The current solution I have is to disable this program
before putting my laptop away. Does anyone know of a Windows XP fix or
program that will prevent programs from waking a laptop out of standby?
Re: Keeping Windows XP programs from taking laptop out of stanby
Some laptops have an automatic shutdown feature.... which enables it
to close itself after a certain period of time being idle.
I am not sure if its true to all notebook computers.
I had experienced it only in HP and Sony notebooks when I forgot to
shut it down occasionally.
Anyway with others ..when the battery juice is depleted , it will just
shut down by itself<G>
