in order to run higher-end games (Black and White 2, for example, which
needs a Pixel Shader 1.0 or higher), but Im not sure if it's
upgradeable. The laptop is fairly old (I bought it August 2002-3,
something like that) and I'd like a 64MB or higher card that can handle
fairly advanced games. Im pretty inexperienced in the area; can anyone
tell me if my laptop is upgradeable (Googling didnt help me too much),
and, if it is, what kind of graphics card I should get and maybe a few
tips on how to install it? Thank you so much!
Re: Installing a new graphics card onto a Compaq Presario 3000 laptop
No, not upgradeable; very few laptops are (I know of only one). Even
if the video is on a separate board (which is almost zero chance), the
real problem is that neither ATI or nVidia make laptop video adapters
for aftermarket replacement.
