components, I thought I could open my Dell Insprion 1505 and see why
my headset jack was not working -- right.
After finally getting the case open and realizing that there was not
much I could do (duh!) I attempted to reconnect the keyboard and
mouse ribbon (not an easy task with my fat fingers. I amssuming there
is a tool to do this properly that I do not possess). While I was
proud of myslef for putting the machine back together, I was
dissapointed (surprise) that when I tried to power up and I was met
with two blinking green lights (num and caps lock).
Basically, power is flowing, but the system will not boot. Any
thoughts on what happend. Do I need to reset something? Please help...
I don't need another doorstop just yet.

Those cables are usually inserted into a ZIF connector that has a wedge
that must be loosened before the cable is removed. If you pulled the
cables from the connectors without loosening the wedges, the cables must
be replaced. I assume that Dell has the cables for $10 or so each.
