I wonder if anyone can help me with the following problem:
I have a HP Pavilion ze5344EA notebook. Recently, the hard drive, a Toshiba
MK 6021 GAS gave up its ghost, and the data on it were not recoverable
(luckily, I had backups of all data files). I replaced the HD with a new WD
Scorpio 80GB drive (the Toshiba was 60 GB). Now, I am trying to run the
QuickRestore form the two CD delivered with the notebook. Unfortunately, the
QuickRestore Process is not functioning properly, so I am not able to
restore the factory data to the harddisk. I have noted that the image
backups are *.PQI-files, which are generated by PowerQuest Drive Image. I do
have the 2002 version of this program, and tried to restore the
FACTORY.PQI-images via the 2 Drive Image floppies. However, I need a
password to unlock the PQI-image. Does anyone know which password(s) HP uses
to unlock this image? Any help would be deeply appreciated.
