I was checking out this laptop at Best Buys recently and I was
considering  buying itand was wondering if it was a good deal.  The
main purpose would be for traveling and not as a desktop replacement.
Does anybody know what the battery life is on this model? Does anybody
have any experiences with this laptop? Good or Bad?

Frankly, I will never purchase a notebook computer from Best Buy, but
from the manufacturer directly.  Search Google for the notebook model
number, or go to www.cnet.com and search for the model review, if there
is one.

Actually I just purchased one of these about 2 weeks ago from my local
Best Buy (I used the on-line purchase w/store pickup) because I have a
nine month old Compaq Presario V3015nr which is virtually the same
machine (also purchased from Best Buy).

I Love my Compaq and use it every day for work.

I purchased the new one for one of the VP's at my company.  The
machine is great but I absolutely HATED the Vista that came installed.
But it may suite your needs just fine.

Based on our success with this model I needed to purchase four more
yesterday and Best Buy is SOLD OUT!  I searched everywhere and I found
them at www.newegg.com (the model number ends with the letters 'us" vs
"nr" but otherwise the same).  They should be arriving Monday.

I'd recommend going for it.  Just don't rely on the "Geek Squad" to
help you out much.

Good luck,
