patterns that is in this photo , I am uhttp://tinyurl.com/rfnjz I am
using it at the moment with an external monitor, so it's obviosly not
the video card, I suspect most likely it is the mainboard component
that connects to the drake that connects to the LCD and if that's the
case then the mainboard will have to be replaced, or could it be the
LCD itself? It is out of warranty so this has to be a D.I.Y.

It could be about anything in the path between the video chip and the
LCD, which means replacable sub-assemblies are either:
Hard to tell without either swapping them between a known-good system
or getting out a logic probe. Sorry there aren't any good answers...
