- Help. Bad cord on laptop power supply

going into the laptop from the power supply got frayed and started
shorting at the plug end. I repaired it as well as I can, but I'd like
to replace this part of the cord with a new one. Unfortunately, the DC
output wire is hard-wired to the DC converter. Can I buy just this
cord? Where? (I tried a replacement plug from Radio Shack, but it
wasn't sturdy enough.)
Thanks for your help.
Re: Help. Bad cord on laptop power supply
splice it to cord hard-wired into the AC adaptor.
The RS plug is really flimsy, and the positive pin is a bit shorter
than the original. It just kills me to buy an adaptor when all I want
is the cord.
