I have a client with a Gateway M305CRV. The processor in it crapped out
so it was replaced.
Now, curiously, when the client burns an audio CD, the first track
burns properly, the rest of the CD is nothing but static.

After returning the laptop after the first repair, I burned a photo CD

But you are far more better off than with a Sony Vaio laptop.
Sony illlegally hijacks your pc. They install malicious software
using Trojan horses. Root kit and whatever crap. Ask Thomas Hesse for
more. He seems to think that you give a damn about it.
