I have a problem with my ACER travelmate, (the ones with the windows
CD written in the hidden partition and you have to burn it on a DVD in
order to use them)
The CD driver has an hardware failure, I can not use it neither for
reading nor for writing CDs or DVDs.
That's not a big problem, I have an external hard disk and I anyway
don't usually need it.
I just need it now, because the windows installed is going too loaded
and slow and I would like to format and reset my system.

It is my understanding, that you can initiate a reinstall
directly from that hidden partition. Either by making a
modification to the bios manually or by using the supplied
