I am using the fem.mesh.p matrix to manually vary the FEMLAB mesh
slightly according to my needs. There is some probelm i am facing
here....I am interested in getting the FEM system matrices for an fem
FEMLAB has a number of commands for this like [Ks,Ls] = femlin(fem) or
[K L Nnp]=femlin(fem) where Ks is of size n x n......and n is the
number of nodes or degree of freedom in the fem problem.
When i manually modify a particular node in the mesh , the contribution
in the matrix due to this node and its other dependent nodes should
only be changed as i am assuming. However i see that many other parts
of the system matrix being changed when i change only one or few nodes
in the mesh.
BTW when i say change, i just vary the postion of node slightly from
the previous one.
Why does this happen, are the elements in the matrix ordered in the
order of number of nodes. OR does the ordering of equations change when
i make this slight change in mesh. Could smeone help me understand this
How do i know which node in the mesh correspond to which element in the
I have a doubt with the meshextend command. FEMLAB always does the
meshextend before solving the problem, so even if i change the mesh ,
does the meshextend change soemthing like node oredring or equation
ordering or something like that??
Please let me know any ideas you have about this....
