- external screen causes problems...

My Acer 5810 has just developed a strange symptom. I normally use an
external monitor as additional screen geography. Now if I have the external
monitor plugged in, both screens flash off and on, not fast, but rendering
the laptop unusable. I have run both Ad Aware full scan, Malwarebytes full
scan, and Avast full scan. No problems found to fix. Does that mean I have
to send the computer to Acer for repair? TIA, Paul

It could be Paul! Although it could be the external monitor cable or the
external monitor itself. So I would try a completely different cable and
monitor first before I would blame the laptop.
