I have an existing internet account for my laptop for home and want to
be able to access the internet when i visit my parents. Do i have to
establish a new account with my provider since it is at a different
location? I'm assuming all i need is another router and modem. Sorry
for this basic question, but i am still in the learning phase. Thanks.

Re: Establishing a new account

You don't give enough information to allow the question to be answered.
If it's cable modem, yes, they will need a new account unless you take
your cable modem with you (and even that might not work). wrote:

Most US cable internet providers require a completely new, paid, account
in another location.  Dial-up is usually universal so that you can
access your account at a remote location with your username, password,
and a local telephone access number.
