goes. I have a combo CD writer / DVD reader in my laptop and am
looking for CD writer and DVD movie player software. However, i need
some (simple) software that i do not have to actually install! I just
need to have something that will write CD's (images, mp3s, etc.), and
something that will play DVD movies. Two seperate packages are ok.
But, they just must work without being installed.
Any recommendations? thanks.
Re: DVD Player software needed: no install required
First of all, what OS are you using? I assume that you are using
Windows, as OSX and Linux pretty much always come with proper software
for such uses.
Media player classic is a sole executable (mplayerc.exe) and will
happily play ANY media file, including DVD playback. There is also a
very basic DVD player included in the win system directory, but it is so
bad I wouldn't even bother with it. As for a CD/DVD burner, I think that
the best way is to create ISO files from them (you can use WinRAR, if
your admin has it installed, there are also many free and small tools to
do so) and then use the cdburn.exe from the XP Suport tools or the
isorecorder powertool (again freely downloadable). Let us know if it worked.
