Got a question, I have an ibm t42, and use dual monitors, if I close my
laptop lid, the plugged-in monitor automatically becomes display #1 and
it acts like there is no other monitor. Then, when you open your lid,
your laptop display becomes monitor #2.

I know I did something to prevent this on my last laptop build but

any idea's?

It seems many laptops have problems with suspend while an external monitor
is being used. I have a Dell that loves to go into "mirrored VGA" mode and
the work laptop looses sight of the external monitor.

You might try the IBM Presentation Director program. It can restore your
monitor setup to one of a number of configurations.

Re: dual monitors

yea i tried presentation director, but for some reason, it sets it up
fine then crashs.  It works at setting it up, but when i close the
lid, same prob again.  Since I don't trust the stability of this program
right now, i'm trying to find a way without using it.

Sorry but thanks anyways..any other ideas?

You could try Ultramon (http://www.realtimesoft.com/multimon /)
