Drive encryption software ???

After reading a lot about the Seagate FDE.2 (full disk encryption)
drive I purchased one for my laptop.  I cloned it from my in use hdd
and upon completion swapped drives.  The new drive works just fine but
NOT in encrypted mode.

Although I saw nothing of this requirement in any of the docs
apparently one must install specific software to enable the fde

I've tried from Seagate;  I've tried from Wave systems (a vendor of
such software) and nowhere can I find applicable software.

Does anyone know of a source of activation software that will work
with this drive?   I've tried numerous searches but can only find
sources of the drive, not the software.

Ideas, suggestions????   Thanks

Re: Drive encryption software ???

This may require bitlocker (a component of Windows Vista Ultimate).

Truecrypt will encrypt a system partition/drive on a regular hdd.
Everything going to and from the hdd is encrypted and decrypted
on-the-fly. Listen to this podcast for better information than I can give. -about 33 MB -lower quality, about 8.3 MB
