can't get the usb to be recognized as 2.0. Getting some X's in device
manager. It's a Hewlett-Packard HP Pavilion dv2000. Support was no help.
Any ideas? The motherboard is a Wistron 30B5 62.54. Am I correct that
the motherboard is what I need the right drivers for?
Re: Downgrade to XP, usb2.0 broken
What you need is to install service pack 2. Then go to the device
manager, and uninstall the usb-looking device with the question mark.
Then hit action->scan for hardware changes. Twiddle thumbs for a
minute or two.
In addition you may indeed to install "chipset" drivers. Which are
here. Unfortunately dv2000 is too broad to point to an exact model, so
here is the list. You'll have to find the right one.
You will find drivers for the other devices here too.
