I have looked through my disks and I don't have a dell system disk?
I found one disk with Dell on it.  It is for reinstalling Cyberlink
I was looking at the Dell help files and I found instructions for
Restoring my computer to factory state.  The instructions don't
mention a disk.  Can my PC be restored to factory settings without a
disk?  Should I have another disk from Dell?

Thanks for your time

hold Ctrl+F11 at start up that takes you to restore. All the info is held on
a separate partition (so long as the HD is original and Dell supplied it
this way) on the hard drive.

Will I have to do any XP activation for XP home that was included with
the laptop?

Sure, after each install of XP you've got to do this. At least this is
what I saw on a PC of a friend of mine, when I replaced his HDD. Without
activation the OS is only useable for 30 days or so. I had the PC two days
and I saw the message....

as this is the ONLY job I'll trust it with, but nothing else.
