I get a recycled Dell laptop latitude c600. It comes with a linux,
but I need Windows. So I installed Windows 2000 on it. The install
process is smooth, but the problem is the display is just about half,
maybe even smaller, of the screen.
I do not see any button on the keyboard which can adjust the display
size, and I do not see how I can set up windows to achieve either.
I thought it might because of the video card driver from Windows 2000
is not right, I go to dell.com and through the driver list, there is
only one listed under "video adapter", it is ATI Mobility 3 / ATI
Mobility 4. I do not know if it is the correct driver. How can i find
out that? Or I just go install it?
Thanks a lot.
Re: Dell latitude C600 : why the display is just half the screen?
You are right in that it is the lack of the correct video driver. If you
download the Dell drivers that you have found onto a CD and then select
'update driver' from the video card properties, it will install the new
driver if it is the right one and ignore it if it isn't.
