- Dell 75YUF Battery Won't Finish Charging

thing refuses to finish charging. It will get up to about 28%
charged, and then refuse to charge anymore. Windows says it's
charging, but the indicator light on the laptop turns off and the
charge level never goes up. Anyone know what might be going on?

While you may be right, it shouldn't be. It's less than a year old,
and it's a non-OEM battery, so it doesn't have Dell's planned
obsolescence "features." Also, it worked well for a while.
Do you leave the battery in the laptop when operating from AC? If so, then
the heat generated in the laptop may well have destroyed the battery.
Laptops seem to vary wildly on this feature. While some hardly heat the
battery at all, others positively cook the battery to death. Lithium-ion
batteries are very intolerant of heat and even moderate heating can
substantially shorten their lives.
If the battery is removed during AC use, it should be possible to get over
10 year's life from the battery (though exact life will depend on the degree
