I had a trip with my Compaq R3000. Upon return I found that the screen
is black. Initially, when I press the power button briefly after boot to
get the laptop into hibernation, I still can see the Windows XP
hibernating screen for a couple of seconds, but at a shrinked scale.
After a few more test, I cannot see anything at all.
I tried to connect the notebook to an external monitor, at it works. So
I think the problem is with the LCD display assemblly on the notebook.
From what I read in this group, I tend to think the problem is with the
inverter. Yet I did not have the fading or flicking problems that are
caused by the inverter as some other people reported.
So could anyone shed some light on this please?
