Disassembly of the "optical stack" (the industry term) is possible with
varying degrees of difficulty ranging from hard to nearly impossible (in
this case, neither easy nor even moderate are even possibilities). When
this is done by service facilities or in LCD panel plants, it's done in
a "clean room" or at least at a laminar flow workstation (essentially
similar to a clean room). That's because a spec of dust can cause what
you are already experiencing. The risk of making things worse even if
you don't destroy the panel is probably 70% or so. The risk of
destroying the panel is probably more like 90%.
