Any body have any experience with this AMD 2200+ powered laptop? How does
performance compare with a Pentium M 1.2?

Averatec, in general, seems to offer inexpensive, nothing fancy, but
very useable laptops from my limited experience (the 3500H is working
after three years) and postings on this and other newsgroups.  Driver
support is good; the laptops come with a true Windows install disk
unless they have changed practices recently.  However, service and

more.  An AMD 2200+ and Pentium M 1.2 should be in the ballpark of

Well, I have a 3250H1 at home and a Dell at work with a Pentium M
1.4 .  Uh, this is going to be *highly* anecdotal, but: I don't see
a lot of difference compiling Linux kernels or X servers.  Maybe
I'll race them some day.

Not that I pay a whole lot of attention.  I chose both
machines for portability, not power.

The Averatec fans are loud, but people report an improvement
after calibrating the fan speed from the BIOS screen.  Also,
the Averatec web site has Windows drivers to improve
power management (and presumable reduce fan usage).
