I've tried bypassing the password of my old Toshiba Tecra 8100 with this
parallel loopback device but without any succes.
Actually I couldn't believe it from the beginning.
It would be to simple, don't you think?
But on the other hand I could have made a little mistake constructing the

Please tell me, if anyone ever succeeded in this, and I will try it all over
I think it such a waste having this laptop just standing here.

3.5" diskette, then use a sector editor to write the word 'key' in boot sector.
It worked in the past. Not sure about nowadays though. Never tried a parallel

not all of them. Don't know about the 8100, but if you've built it,
keep it around, you might need it someday, even if not for that computer.
The newer computers use a USB dongle that is all but impossible for
end-users to duplicate, but they can be bought, although they are not cheap.
There is at least a 3rd way that might work .....
