Also, there might be less disk accesses if you avoid using the swapfile,
which would tend to reduce power consumption.
I guess when a laptop is put into hibernation mode, the contents of the
ram are saved, so I assume with more ram, it needs more disk work to
save, which would increase the power used.
Like everyone else, I suspect it will make little overall difference,
but there are two more effects that nobody else mentioned.
