I have an advent 7003 15" laptop tft screen .I would like too use this
as a second monitor for desktop.Can anyone advise on how I can do
this.Colour codes ,PSU and inverter info ? Any help is welcomed.

If you were an *experienced* electronics engineer or technician, you
might be able to accomplish the transformation if you could find the
parts necessary for it - the most significant issue. OTOH, as a
knowledgeable user, you will expend much time and money on what most
would consider to be a fool's mission, especially given the low cost of
actual working monitors of far superior quality to this LCD.

Please log in for more thread options As a practical matter you can't do it. Which means that:
1. the parts required may not exist (at all, period)
2. If the do exist, they are unlikely to be available in unit quantities
3. If they exist and are available, and even if the prices are
reasonable, it will cost more (a lot more) than a brand new desktop LCD
monitor.

For future reference, when you post the same question to multiple newsgroups
you should crosspost, not multipost, as it eliminates duplication of effort
in that all respondents can see all responses and so will know whether they
are simply repeating what someone else posted.
Others will tell you never, ever to do this--you should ask yourself, if it
is so evil, then why did the developers of USENET see fit to provide the
capability?

Please log in for more thread options Sorry John I am new too usenet. I will gladly crosspost and not
multipost. I have however began the same sin with this second post
until I reached here. My intention is too get my question too as many
people as possible.
The screen is complete with housing. The whole thing is about 1cm thick
making it a very nice compact screen.I have the rest of laptop if I did
need any additional components.
However I have taken screen out of housing too find inverter at bottom.
I would think that by connecting power and vga or dvi lead too panel
nothing further is necessary.
The panel is a 15.1" XGA TFT panel nice,compact and surely worth
saving.
The panel is marked Torisan TFT-LCM TM150XG-02L02A
