Hi,

I have a IBM thinkpad T20 , warranty has expired

currently when I try to boot the light just blinks and does nothing,
i have tried to switch on with ac power (removing battery) the same
thing
happens.

what could be the reason for this type of failure any idea?

can i use laptops monitor as desktops monitor(not this one) if yes how?

regards
tc

Most likely there has been a significant power supply failure on the
laptop's motherboard.

No, you cannot use the monitor as a desktop monitor.

Your options are to fix it or to sell it as-is on E-Bay. You might be
surprised at how much you can get for it, even though it doesnt' work
(it has a good screen, hard drive, CD, keyboard, external power
supply/charger, etc.)

One of the "sell it as-is" options it to "part it out" (take it apart
and sell the parts separately).

If you call IBM support they can usually tell you what is wrong even
though you dont have a current warranty. The light blinks in in
different patterns for different problems. If you tell them the
pattern, they can usually tell you what is wrong.
