Hi,
I have a brand new cingular 3125 smartphone. I recently bought
Microsoft Streets and Trips for my desktop, thinking it might have
pocket streets 2007 in the box. As far as I can tell, it did not ship
with pocket streets, which was my whole purpose for buying the desktop
version.

Unless someone can tell me otherwise, I guess I now need to go out and
buy the latest version of pocket streets to install on my smartphone.
What is the latest version?

I found pocket streets 2005 at amazon, but I'm wondering if that is the
latest version.

Also, I'm very new to this phone, but I'm assuming it does not have any
gps capabilities built in...

thanks for any advice you can offer.

Postings in this newsgroup state MS dropped Pocket Streets w 2007. At the
same time, DeLorme apparently added a Mobile 5 version.

2006 was the last version w PS. Some stores still have copies. It might be
available in the used book and software stores.

Cingular has a $99 Bluetooth GPS hanging on the wall next to where you
stood. Ask your sales rep if they are compatible. Since your 3125 is new,
you might want to investigate a return for a Blackjack.

Thurman is correct, though I wonder why he is pushing the Blackjac. I
wanted to add that the retail version of Pocket Streets 2005 is not the
latest, but it is the last retail Pocket Streets produced. You are better
off finding a copy of Streets and Trips 2006 and using Pocket Streets from
that. Might even cost less.

That is assuming you want Pocket Streets. It is not exactly the premier
mapping program around if you intend to use it with a GPS.

True... the only worse one I can think of is Delorme's ;-)

Pocket Streets is now sold separately although the versions included in
Street's and Trips between 2003 and 2007 will open and use maps
generated in 2007 as the pocket streets map format was standardized at
the 2003 point.

Pocket Streets only shows the current gps location on the map... no
routing is possible.

Do you mean something other than the 2005 version? I haven't seen any
indication anything more recent than that is available separately.
