Hello all,
I have a Cingular 3125 with their Unlimited Data Plan, and I need to share
the connection via Bluetooth or USB with my laptop when on the road. I have
read that this is possible, but it seems my phone is not running the latest
version of windows mobile. (I understand I need AKU 3). Is there any way
to upgrade the OS on the phone, and if not does anyone know of any Internet
Connection Software that I can use?

Thanks
Lance

You mean you want to connet your laptop to the internet through your
phone?
I have a 3125 as well. I do it via USB. Go to Start/Accessories on your
3125. There you'll find Wireless Modem. Run that, select USB for connection
type, hit Menu, then Start.
Never was able to get my Bluetooth to connect, but I gave up fairly
quick since USB worked well enough.

Thanks for the reply, I was going about it the wrong way. On your advice I
did some different searches on google, and cingular's website, and I was
able to get the bluetooth working.

I found this link on cingular's website (Actually you can't directly link to
it, you have to navigate their support menu, so i'll just paste the content)
it details the setup of the bluetooth wireless modem:

One problem I had was with the initialization string, (Step 29)
I had to use: +cgdcont=1,"IP","wap.cingular" instead of
AT+cgdcont=1,"IP","isp.cingular"

Glad you solved that but just FYI, an upgrades to your phone will have to
come from Cingular, unless you want to risk 'cooked' ROMs from a thriving
experimenter community. Even though the 3125 is essentially the same phone
as some other models from other vendors each distributor of a Windows Mobile
Device has the option of doing customization in hardware and software that
makes interchanging ROM images less likely to work.

Thanks,
I'm glad I don't need to mess with that.
