I think I need to clear things up. I can download from the automatic up
dates I just cant install them.
If I type in for example (kb901017) and do a search and find it the download
section I can download it and install it but not from the page that scans my
computer and it will tell me what I need to update

Microsoft Update recently updated their software, you must update the
'update' system on your computer.

It happens automatically if your computer is valuated as genuine Microsoft
Windows.
