Can anyone help me setup a Samsung i730 phone to use the bundled
"Messaging" application to talk to my IMAP server (courier + postfix)
over a VPN connection (PPTP)?
The trouble seems to be that the Messaging application Accounts setup
thingie doesn't let me choose any connections I've defined in the OS's
Start | Settings | Connections area. That is to say that I setup a
connection which I've named "Company" and on its VPN tab I've entered
all the needed info. Then I go to Messaging and setup a new account...
But in Messaging, Accounts only allows me to choose "Work" and "The
Internet" as connections.... and where these are defined is a complete
mystery.
I've setup several users with Treo, PalmOS, Mergic, & Snapper Mail.
On the Treo, I tell mergic to make a VPN connection when Snapper
application tries to get email. This works fine.
But M$ doesn't seem to 'get it'. So I'm stumped on how to make this
work. Do I need to use a different email application? Which one is
most like Outlook? (this is for our exec's and they want an Exchange
server, so it would need to work with Exchange also.)
Any hints?
[please excuse the burp when replying]
