Update to the latest firmware 1.1 (XIP) on the hx4700. Active sync (along
with other applications) stopped working. Then I noticed icons were
missing, but the rest were there. It seems that the activesync logo does
not start active sync. I copied the firmware update onto an SD card and
re-ran the update, but this did not cure the problem. I then tried forcing
the IPAQ back to the last ROM update 1.1, but cannot because it requires
activesync..which is not working on the PPC.

Does anyone have an idea of how to get the PPC Active Sync working? I have
tried looking at copying the program from a backup, but cannot find the
program name, dlls or shortcut...
Thanks
Simon

Hi,
When you install a new rom, the partnership in ActiveSync is no longer
valid. So you may need to delete the partnership and set it up again from
scratch. You can do this by using File - Delete Partnership.

That's not the issue. The PPC will not start Activesync, even when clicking
on it the programs folder. The program repllog.exe (activesync on PPC) will
not start neither...

Hi,
Did you perform a hard reset of the hx4700 after installing the rom? Is the
icon for ActiveSync in the system tray on the PC?

Yes, I havce dons several hard (and soft restes). I have even tried
re-installing the firmware update. The activesync icon is not in the
systray.

But I am also missing icons (not titles) of many other programs (which all
run by the way).

If activesysnc was working, I could then force the re-install of Rom 1.1,
followed by the firmware update...
