Hello, I'm working on a site http://www.koala-tea.com
the site uses php and objects
in the center of the page there is an HTML object
the object has links in it, if i click on a link from inside the
object, the object will change.
I want to be able to target the parent window, but i haven't
been able to have any luck so far.
if I specify a target for the link like
<a href="page2.html" target="_top">
<a href="page2.html" target="_parent">
then i only have success in mozilla based browsers
in MSIE the links still open inside the object
only the page inside the object is affected in MSIE and mozilla
i was thinking of giving the parent window a name somehow
and setting the target to be that window name
but I do not know of any way to rename a window that is already
open, or even to get the name of it
does anyone have any advice?
Re: Using Targets with Objects
Looks like a frame.
Acts a lot like a frame.
Isn't as well supported as a frame.
Frames have a bundle of problems, so I won't suggest you use them instead.
Take a look at preprocessing to include common content, or do it on the fly
with a server side technology such as SSI, Perl, PHP, JSP, ASP, etc
