Is this the right place to discuss Adobe
(formerly Macromedia) Flash design and
programming in ActionScript 3.0 or is there
some better place? I was wondering what
the difference was between Adobe Flash
CS4 and Adobe Flash Professional CS4.
Also, besides these two software products
is there any GNU software products that
can be satisfactorily used to generate the
same kind of programs? Also, is it worth
looking into Shockwave or is Flash enough?
I want to write programs involving images
some of which will be 2D and some of
which will be 3D, and have the user
interact with them via a mouse or
keyboard, but it's just that the 3D
images I plan to create will not be
the ones of the type where they
need to be viewed by more than
one angle and will not be of the
type that rotate, so I guess I
shall be needing Flash but
not Shockwave. It seems
that Shockwave is slightly
more expensive to develop
in so I don't think I will be
needing it for my purposes.
Thank you for your advice,
And thank you to pointing me to a more
appropriate newsgroup in case it exists.
Also what is the difference between CS3
and CS4 and what does the "CS" part
[BTW, is there a site on the internet
analogous to Google Groups that allows
you to search just UseNet Newsgroups
and not the silly Google Groups that do
not belong to UseNet? Thanks again.]
Re: Adobe Flash newsgroups? Flash vs. Flash Pro vs. Shockwave
Not exactly what you asked for, but I bet you'd get answers
to at least some your questions on one or more of these:
CS = Creative Suite - a package of software applications.
Version 4 is the more recent, so expect more bloat in each
