Most pre-installed system have a recover procedure. Read your computer's
manual.

The pre-installed system is usually in a hidden partition on your hard drive
and just takes the correct key combination to activate.

On a Dell it is often F11 during the boot.
Sometimes there is a very brief message on the screen during boot.

Either use the onboard recover if present (read your manual) or contact the
mfg to get a recovery kit.

Hello pooternoob:

Unfortunately a lot of computer manufacturer's are not sending the OP Disc
with the new system. You have to pay extra for an Operating System Disc.

I've done 9 or more clean installs with Windows XP Media Center 2005 from
Dell and its worth the money for an Operating System Disc.

Check with the company your purchased your system from and order a disc.

Recently this happened to a friend with a new laptop from Toshiba and no
Operating System Disc. I had him request a disc and he paid for it plus
shipping. Just in case you need to replace the whole system which happens.

Maybe because it's Monday but that's like paying extra for tires when you
purchase a car. With the rapidity that systems hit the dumpster for one
reason or another along with programs, apps, etc., it only makes sense. If
he's that poor a businessman or that chintzy, find something else to do.

My point in the last sentence - it happens.

Back to lurking - silently!
