When I click >Start >Shutdown my PC goes through the normal steps but
instead of 'Shutting down' it 'Reboots'.
This has been happening for some time now and I have not been able to find a
fix or the command that is causing this. Running W2K and assume it was
caused by some program that I installed or ran.
TIA Peter S.
Re: Why my PC reboots rather than shutsdown
There is probably a program running in the backgroung that will not allow
itself to be terminated. I would run a virus scan, and an adware scan
(using Adaware, Spybot or similar program). Try entering Safemode and doing
a shutdown from there- if it works then restart and terminate running
processes not necessary until you locate the culprit.
