trying to determine what video card would best for the TV
output - with the aim of good quality with minimum processor
loading. My tuner card is the Hauppauge WinTV-PVR 250, which
has hardware encoding. It seems as though a display card
with hardware decoding would be best, but very few of the
cards I investigate specifically say they have hardware
decoding. Some mention optimizations of various sorts, but
it is not clear how they would affect processor loading when
watching video files. I am operating on a budget, so I am
looking at whatever used cards I see listed on craigslist.
Can anyone suggest specific "older" cards which are
optimized for video output, or resorces for this kind of
My goal is to eliminate gaps in the video data being
recorded, especially after I add another tuner card for
recording more than one program at a time.
I am currently using a Matrox G400 Dual head card. Asus
