USB and PS2 (barcode scanner) keyboards on the same PC

Do you have a question? Post it now! No Registration Necessary.  Now with pictures!

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for some ideas on whether or not this is even going to work.

I have an AMD 64X2 machine built on a A8N-SLI Delux mobo by ASUS. I am
happy with my Dell USB multimedia keyboard and now I need to hook up a
barcode scanner that emulates a PS2 keyboard. I guess, "keyboard wedge" is
the term. Anyways, I don't seem to have any luck with it even though the
scanner and its controller have just been disconnected from another PC
that had only PS2 keyboard, and it worked there perfectly.

So, the big question is: can you even have both USB and PS2 keyboards on
the same Win x64 machine at the same time?

The barcode controller is Intermec 9710, scanner is Intermec 1545 in case
it matters here.

Thanks for any input!

Best Regards,
