Just a hypothetical question at the moment .. but ...
I built a compter with FOUR WD 200GB SATA drives,
two in SATA 0 and two in SATA 1
The SATA controller is on the motherboard, which is an Asus P5GDC-V
What happens if/when one of the drives fails ....
1) Can I use a SATA II drive to replace the failed drive ?
2) Is it OK to mix SATA & SATA II drives ?
It seems like SATA II dirves have taken over now, and I am not sure of
the differnece anyway (hence the questions !).
It would be nice to know what to do when the time comes, to avoid
buying the wrong thing or panicking !
Re: SATA & SATA II Drives
Didn't say it was special ... just wanted to give people the story ..
so may people leave vital information out !
Once again thanks
No, but as I said, I wanted the information BEFORE anything goes
It is better to gain inforrmation beforehand in anything .. it is
called knowledge !
You obviously KNEW the answer.. I didn't !!!!!!!!
That's what these groups are for and I have learnt a lot from them !
