I have butchered an old laptop and have got a working screen left
over. I have a VW camper and am wondering if there is any way i can
wire this up to anything to allow me to play dvds or anything similar
through it....also i would need to power it...

just a thought?

these are the pictures of the screen and 2 connections

No, the driving circuit for it is built into the notebook
and recreating it would require extreme effort and cost
relatively to the much cheaper and easier option- buying a
new whole one meant to be driven by the device outputting
the video.

Portable DVD player...I picked one up for my son at Christmas...70.
Mind you, if you got one you'd have to adjust the insurance on your
VW...it would double the value ;)

Well, it you put the rest of the notebook around it.

The LCD screen is a component and needs the controller, and power supply,
in the notebook to work.

Just the LCD screen is akin to taking the tube out of a CRT Monitor and
wondering if one can plug a DVD player into the pins on the rear of the
tube. No, it takes all the other stuff in there to make it a monitor.
