My Asus P4S533 mb crapped out on me the other day. I want to replace
it, what do you guys recommend I get? Here is what I have:
CPU - Pent 4 2.2Ghz 478
MEMORY - 3 1GB PC2700 - 333mhz CL 2.5 (Cas Latency)
128x64 -Built with 128Mx8Bit Dram (Hi-Density Dram)
Un-buffered Non-Registered 184Pin Non ECC
VIDEO - NVidia GForce4 TI 4200
Hard Drives - Maxtor 6L200R0 / 6L300R0
CDS - Plextor CD-R Px-W8432T / NEC DVD-RW ND-3520A
The memory is new and didn't work on the Asus mb, I would like to keep
them and use them on the new mb.
Do 478 mb's have Hi density DRAM or will I need a new CPU to use the
memory on the new mb?
Re: Motherbaord died, need recommendations!!!
Recommend you get another Asus. I haven't kept up with the hardware
lately, so I can't help you with which one to choose...
On the other hand, dual-core Pentiums are out... maybe get something
that will take full advantage...?
You can overclock your Pentium slightly... I o/c'ed my 2.7 Celeron to 3
ghz, until I realized that lately all I use it for is to surf the
web... throttled it down again, so it wouldn't heat the room so much.
