Hi *,

this would be my first trial at a "homebuilt server" (previously I was just
using PCs)

I want/need:

 1._ a mobo:
1.1_ which BIOS let me boot without a keyboard or monitor attached
  1.2_ supporting ECC memory
  1.3_ with a built-in Dual Gigabit LAN

I see some of DFI LANParty mobos sporting:

Onboard LAN
LAN Chipset: Vitesse VSC8201 / 10/100/1000Mbps
Second LAN Chipset: Marvell 88E8001 / 10/100/1000Mbps

How could you tell if they are full dupplex or not?

 2._ a silent power supply

 3._  enough RAM (1 GB)

Also I am planning to run Linux. Do you know of reputable merchants selling
configurable Linux barebones?

Also I will be administering the box myself, which other things should I be
looking into?

Any other references to this type of "prior art"?

something that I forgot to mention.

I have this box full of NICs that I will have to thoroughly test. Which
software and/or hardware people use to do functional; and stress tests on
