I ave built a computer with an intel serverboard shg2, and it worked fine
with windows 2000, until it came up with the error message saying hardware
malfunction, and that the system has halted.
The only way to get rid of this message is to pull the plug!
It comes back every time I start the computer.
Re: intel server
That's software reporting a problem. As such, you should
check that software (windows') logs. For example, check the
Event Viewer. Beyond that, (this being a hardware group),
you might start with a concise list of all major hardware in
the system including makes/models, including the power
supply. Check fans and cables, temps and voltages too if
you hadn't already.
If you'd changed bios settings you might take another look
It might also help if we had more background on whether
system "had" been working ok for a time and what's changed
since then, and if there's any commonality to this error,
like amount of time system was running or ambient room
temperatures or software running or ???
