Iím a newbe building a system for my kids and cannot find a answer to
I have an ecs755a2 mobo into an antec slk1650 case. Harddrive is a wd
160 gb sata; cdrw is a sony crx195a1 and dvd is an nec nd-3520a.
All the manuals and instructions Iíve seen say to connect the HD to
IDE1 on the mobo and the dvd and cdrw as master/slave on IDE2.
Since Iím using the SATA1 connection on the mobo for my hardrive, can
I use IDE1 for the dvd and cdrw?

Yes you can, but you need to contact the SATA licensing authority to
get a permit number and pay your ID-Ten-T fee. You could also forward
that to me, the amount is $15.00. Advise of method of payment
