use it with external HD or optical drives. I used Win Home Edition
Service Pack 2 to partition and format the new drive as follows:
I created one primary partition (50 GB). As I wanted to create other
logical paritions the computer still showed the entire drive space as
available for logical drive. I used the entire space to create logical
drive and devided this logical drive into 3 paritions. I formated the 3
partitions and the computer showed no mistakes. Note that to do this
process I installed the new HD as Internal Slave. As I installed the HD
in the external USB and connected it through the USB to the computer I
the computer did not show any second HD. I just got the message that
there is a new hardware being installed and my hard drive did not show.
I changes the settings of the jumper to several setting (Master, Slave,
Cable Select and no jumpers at all), still my computer does not see the
exteran HD. What went wrong?
