duel memory.First slot i have 256mb ddr,secound slot have 128mb
ddr,third slot 256mb ddr,fourth slot 128mb ddr.So that 768 mb,but it
said single memory not duel.Did i put them in the wrong order? Also i
have video card 128md and shared 128 mb=256.So my memory should read
640mb,but it said 768mb.Whats up with that. One more thing when hooking
up front switch on computer case to motherboard, the darker color or
red is positive. What if you have a red and black witch one is positive?
Re: Built new computer need help on a couple of things.
Maybe, consult the manual to find out which slots correspond
to which channels.
If it bothers you just take out one of the 128MB modules.
It might help if you mentioned the card model and chipset,
even a link to it online.
You can't necessarily assume any color is positive merely
because it's darker, though red is usually, especially when
paired with black.
However, on a case switch there is no need to polarize the
connector for positive or negative, if you hooked it up
backwards it would work fine as it only completes the
circuit between those two wires and the switch is not
grounded (in almost all cases but a rare OEM circuit board
on which you would not have individual connectors and a
choice on how to hook it up, it would be all-integrated
multi-pin plug).. Same goes for a reset switch, it'll work
either way. If LEDs were backwards they just wouldn't
light, then you'd flip the connector over.
