Quick question:

Do ATX PSU's with a 24+4 (splitable) motherboard connector also have the
4pin square 12V AUX connector as standard?

Looking around I find references that the 'aux' connector isn't generally
included on such PSU's, but I can't actually find if they are referring to
the 4pin connector or the older aux connector that carried something like 5v
as well as the 12v (or something like that...)

The Aux power connector is the linear 6 pin connector.

The 12V square connector is called +12V Power Connector in the ATX standard.
