Two I've had for awhile and they are version 2 while the latest pair is
version 5.1. The full number is CM2X1024-6400C4DHX XMS2-6400 800Mhz 4-4-4-
12 2.10V. Each pair works fine by themselves with my Core 2 Quad Q6600,
but when all of them are placed, the computer locks up during OS boot. I
switched the POST to full memory test and not the quick and it goes through
the test fine. Any thoughts?
Re: ASUS P5N32-E SLI mobo and 4GB RAM
Running 4 x low latency modules can be a problem at default
spec and speed, try raising the timings and/or raising the
chipset voltage. If they weren't already 2.1V spec'd
modules I'd suggest bumping memory voltage too but 2.1V is
already on the high side conservatively speaking, do so at
your own risk.
Don't try to boot an OS yet, doing so while memory is
instable can cause all kinds of nasty problems like file
corruption even after the memory issue is resolved. Run
memtest86+ for several hours after any change and only then
with no errors reported, attempt booting the OS.
