Hi all!

Who can tell me of any companies that make similar products to the ones
made by Routerboard ( )?

Not that there's anything wrong with the fine products of
Routerboard... Just interested in alternatives...  ;-)

And why would anyone buy this, when so many ready-to-go
routers can be bought at Staples. There is even one product
that has open source firmware, so home hackers can fool around.
I think the poor folks at routerboard are going to be lonely.
Time marches on, and what was once a high tech novelty,
eventually becomes an appliance.

And there are alternative platforms. Like glue something to
a Via EPIA board. And lots of people have old computers
lying around, and a little Linux and some $10 NICs and
you are done. Just a glut of solutions. A product had better
be solving a unique problem in a pretty unique way, if
spamming a newsgroup is going to work :-)

Hehe, I was just thinking "crack open any off-the-shelf
router and there you are".
