I just installed Norton antivirus 2005 and now whenever the computer starts,
a windows installer window appears for a few seconds and then a second
window appears that says:
Norton Antivirus 2005 does not support the Repair feature. Please uninstall
and re-install the software.
It takes about three times hitting the x at the top right of the error
window for the notice to finally disappear and then it seems OK, but I'm not
sure if the software is actually working correctly other than the tray icon
It makes no mention of what this repair feature is and what to do about it,
and I can't find any options for such a feature in Norton or in Windows.
Naturally, I uninstalled and reinstalled the software a few times and this
Can anyone please advise me on what is going wrong and how to fix it?
I run Windows XP and have had Norton Antivirus 2003 and Norton Systemworks
2004 before installing this one and it never came up.
I also run Zone Alarm Pro on the computer.
Thanks a lot for any advice.

Did you move, or rename, the NAV menu items in the start menu? NAV no
longer likes that and it is trying to 'repair' the, it thinks, missing
start menu items.
You can edit the location in the registry to the new location. Do a search
for the old location (there is more than one entry) and replace with the new.
