Hi Guys,
have an Acer Aspire SA85, just recently the hard drive started to fail, so
got me a brand new WD  500Gb one, also increased the Ram by 512 to make a
total of 1 GB.  Ok, managed to save/transfer the files I needed then put in
the new HDD.

Struck a problem, in the fact that the computer now only recognizes only
127.99 GB of the drive and only recognized 768 of Ram.
The BIOS is a phoenix Tech Bios LTD RO1-DO(August 2996)
The CPU is a celeron® D 3.20Ghz

Could this be a Bios problem, I have searched the internet and Acer for an
updated Bios but can't find one, so any help or advice is truly appreciated
Thanks and Regards

It is a BIOS problem, it doesn't support 48bit LBA. Get yourself off to
Western Digitals website and download the installation software for the
drive. It'll add drive overlay software that'll allow you access to the
full 500GB, regardless of what the BIOS sees.
